Publisher Lyrical Games, in collaboration with developer Plot Twist, has unveiled their latest project, Erosion, an open-world roguelike action game set against the backdrop of the Wild West. Scheduled for an Early Access launch in spring 2026 on Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, the full release will follow later that year, expanding to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms.
“We founded Plot Twist with the intention of making story-driven independent titles fueled by compelling gameplay,” shared Plot Twist CEO Tomasz Gawlikowski in a recent press release. He elaborated on the game’s unique mechanics, stating, “Every time you die in Erosion‘s bullet frenzy battles, you can come back, but several years will have passed for the world around you. This lends the story and action a unique emotional depth, making saving your daughter all the more emotional. We can’t wait for players to experience all of this.”
Lyrical Games head Blake Rochkind echoed this enthusiasm, noting, “At Lyrical Games, we are looking to work with ambitious developers. When we understood the breadth of experience Plot Twist had in mind for Erosion, alongside the incredible visual and unique tone, we knew we had to support their vision.”
About Erosion
Set in a distant future, Erosion immerses players in a world where a sentient rock formation known as the Pillar is gradually consuming civilization. Players will venture into the depths of this enigmatic structure, battling through chaotic, destructible dungeons in a quest to save the protagonist’s daughter from the relentless passage of time. Each decision made will ripple through the narrative, with every death impacting the timeline.
The game promises intense, fast-paced combat as players navigate roguelite dungeons filled with formidable enemies and bosses. They will traverse a post-apocalyptic Wild West in customizable vehicles, uncovering side stories that influence the future while leaving their mark on a voxel-based world ripe for destruction.
